On 7/8/2011 I saw the Senior Show at the Petersburg Area Art League: an exhibition of artworks created as part of Art on Wheels’ “Arts Enrichment for Senior Citizens” program.

The artworks include silk painting, monotypes, marbling, and wire/paint flowers that are hard to describe but gorgeous to behold. The artists are special seniors: persons who have a variety of physical and cognitive challenges and also have difficulties accessing conventional arts opportunities.

This is one of those look-good-feel-good exhibitions, and it’s a nice collaboration between two beneficial organizations.
