The row of hand-size female bronzes was perhaps my favorite grouping – “female bronzes” in that they depict the female figure amid organic abstractions. This was at Rubin Peacock’s annual “private preview” exhibition which I attended on 11/6/2011.
Rubin’s one of those “artist’s artists” who knows and lives his discipline which includes a lot of bronze and also stone and canvas and paper. He splits his year between Richmond and Sarasota and inserts a month or two with his muse in a studio in southern Mexico.
Rubin’s one of those uncommon Richmonders who has a multi-decade and continuing track record of placing first-quality artworks in the collections of discerning buyers in Richmond and well beyond.
