George Washington’s teeth were not part of his 20-minute performance that I experienced on 9/1/2010, but he was in full glory nevertheless.
I’d seen and been moved by actor Kevin Grantz in historical garb and persona before, but I had not seen this particularly moving and poignant monologue – actually more of a fireside chat, researched and written by Grantz - about the four stages of Washington’s life.
From what I observed, Grantz’s Washington engaged each member of our group in both a general and a personal way. The theme was “service-leadership,” and I vote for this presentation to be a mainstay for any organization that embraces such.
(Afterwards I met and talked with Grantz and learned that he’s a regular actor at Mystery Dinner Playhouse – something that I have not yet experienced. It’s now on my priority list.)
