Collaborations Make It Work

Hamilton Glass & Poe

Cross-pollination between disciplines in art, culture and local businesses, strengthens our entire community and engages new audiences.

artoberVA is always a super catalyst for collaborations by bringing nontraditional partners together and spurring creative new experiences for the community.

Check out these collaborative events happening during the last-half of October.

This family festival shares the culture of the Czech & Slovak families who settled on abandoned farms after the Civil War in the Prince George County area. Festivities for the day include: traditional music & dancing, traditional foods such as sauerkraut & kolace, genealogical exhibits, children's activities, and a Czech & Slovak Gallery.

St. John’s Church Foundation and the Poe Museum come together to present Fancy Me Mad! This event includes a ghostly Graveyard tour, and tales told by Mr. Edgar Allan Poe himself! Other "spirits" will join in along the way including Eliza Poe, the mother of Edgar Allan Poe and more.

It's opening day for this exhibition at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture featuring murals by 10 local artists inspired by objects from their collections. The day will be filled with art-themed, interactive, and family-friendly activities in celebration of this unprecedented exhibition.
