5th Annual Arts & Culture Xpo
Saturday, June 27th, was a great day at the Science Museum of Virginia.
The day featured 66 diverse arts and culture organizations from the region, check the list out here.
The day was a great success with more than 4,600 in attendance roaming between the Museum’s rotunda area and the outdoor Thalhimer Pavilion space. Many seasoned elements returned this year including two performance stages, and a variety of hands-on, live-art demonstrations; however the outdoor area allowed for the addition of food trucks – Boka Truck, Curbside Creations, The Dog Wagon, Gelati Celesti, Mosaic & Opa – and craft beer from Ardent Craft Ales and Isley Brewing.
Also outdoors were some fantastic impromptu performances and larger art activities such as Studio Two Three navigating a steam roller to create unusual over-sized etchings.
The hands-on weaving project was fun for all!
So many shared why arts and culture are important to them.
